This standard specifies ITU-T Recommendation G.991.2, Single-Pair High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line (SHDSL) Transceivers as a normative reference and identifies the requirements in ITU-T G.991.2 that are different in the United States. Further, this standard specifies the requirements for extending the payload data rates of G.991.3 up to 5696 kbit/s.
